One of ours was very playful by nature. We had one of those little toy helicopters that you put on a little trigger stand and then the ring would spin and it would fly up in the air. It was a cheap little plastic thing. Scamp LOVED that thing! She would actually catch the helicopter and bring it back to us to do it again and again. She's the only cat I've had who would fetch! lol Both of them were very serious in their play and we did make sure that we had things available for them. One of the best things for them was to let them go out in the garage and hunt the mice out there. Scamp actually caught a garden snake that got in the basement once.

I think some cats really do have strong drives, just like dogs.houndstoothhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02159272473651561647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2295314400335672773.post-63841722151396642752012-04-06T19:54:00.942-07:002012-04-06T19:54:00.942-07:00Very interesting. But if I can make a reference, Blaze our dogs, sounds like Bit, in the sense of having extra hunting skills. To Blaze everything is prey. Our walks are all about hunting and digging. She could care less about the dogs that went through, only about the critters that may be near. She can't be around the cats because of it. She's started to soften and I'm working with her. We play find the squirrel, when there are none and she can do that ALL day long. Her Husky Prey Drive is pretty insane.

I like the idea of tapping into in more and using it up so to speak, maybe that would help me with introducing the cats. Great thought.

I really love how in tune you are with your cats and seem to have a real understanding about them. Would you be open to an email? I would really like to talk to someone about cats and I have always got a good feeling about how much you love your cats.

If you would rather not, that is OK. I just wanted to ask.

24pawsoflove@gmail.com

Good luck with Bit. Can't wait to hear how it goes. :)24 Paws of Lovehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06574070591449171093noreply@blogger.com
